'HILING PO ITO MISMO NG DATING PANGULONG DUTERTE'
Palace Press Officer and Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro said Monday, March 10, that former President Rodrigo Duterte had previously expressed willingness to face the International Criminal Court (ICC) and even urged it to expedite its investigation.
"He was the one who asked for this. Bakit? Sinabi niya sa Quad Comm hearing, handa siyang harapin ang ICC. Pinamamadali nga niya iyong ICC. 'Di ba sabi niya, 'Hurry up!' At sinabi pa niya, 'Tomorrow, bukas na bukas din kung gusto ninyong mag-imbestiga and if you will put me in prison, I would rather rot in jail,'" Castro said.
She urged the public to remain calm, emphasizing that Duterte himself had called for the ICC's investigation.
"So, kaya po iyong mga kababayan natin, dapat mag-relax dahil hiling po ito mismo ng dating Pangulong Duterte," Castro added.
