I found 8 strategies to improve participation through distance learning. If you are a teacher from grades 3-8, I found this article helpful. Being a user of #Flipgrid, I was happy to see it as a strategy. @An_Wr3n#csufedtech https://t.co/cCZXs2DroI
Did you know that you don't need to be a technology expert to create an app? This #appinventor website is a great tool to teach students on a topic in a creative way. Or, give students the opportunity to create an app to show their learning.

@anareyarias This is so interesting! I feel that this is valuable to my 5th graders for #medialiteracy. I teach #dualimmersion, so I am happy that it is in Spanish as well. #csufedtech
A6: Books on culturally responsive teaching, celebrating events/holidays, using student names in stories, examples, math problems, and makes assignments relatable to their culture. Teaching the "why" it is important. #csufedtech
A4: I think the biggest challenge to get them to collaborate are two things; they don't know how or they are shy. My students get sentence starters and each of their jobs when collaborating (facilitator, recorder, speaker, and collaborator) to make it simpler #csufedtech

@m_austin32 They loved it! We had sample questions and they generated questions as well. I was given resources by my district and trained on how to do it. We practiced a lot because we wanted to be the first to guess their state haha.
A3: I have done Mystery Skype a few times to get my students connected with other students from other states. I also did a Skype meeting with other teachers in this program. #csufedtech
@ErikaGuzman623 I used #mysteryskype with my 5th graders to practice their Spanish skills with another dual immersion class and learn about map locations, bodies of water, states, rivers, etc. They had to guess the state that the other class was in by asking location questions. Super awesome!
@DrEddiesClass@Roblox That is super awesome, I am doing a one time google meets tomorrow with my students. That is a great idea! Thank you for sharing!
