Proud Public School SpEd Teacher of 25yrs. LAUSD Parent, SchoolMom, Activist and Advocate trying to make a difference every day in the lives of my school-kids.
@LAUSDSup if you recognize this, how do you expect this to continue with less staff, less programs… less of everything while the LAUSD piggy bank continues to grow?! We need funds every day not only for rainy days!
A heartfelt thank you to our teachers and substitute teachers. Your inspiration for students, involvement with families and dedication to both academics and extracurriculars empower students to achieve their full potential. #TeacherAppreciationDay#TeacherAppreciationWeek
@LAUSDSup and @LASchools while you are sitting comfy on your offices… reality is just feet away from you all! This @UTLAnow educator feels it! @LAUSDSup u make $440k per year.. and take away from our students!? CUTS HURT OUR KIDS! Stop the cuts!
Meanwhile @LAUSDSup also didn’t mention on @UniNoticias this morning that He and Admin also received raises.. stop hoarding money and use it on our students! STOP CLOSING SPED PROGRAMS!
@LASchools@LAUSDSup Still listening to you on @Univision channel 34 and you’re saying ALL positions are filled.. meanwhile that’s NOT true for Special Education. Tell the truth Sir!!! @UTLAnow we know the needs of our schools and our students!
#BREAKING: Gov. Newsom declared a state of emergency in 8 counties, including LA and Orange counties, as a powerful storm lands in SoCal. https://t.co/RsCWPExrZW
@LAUSDSup@LASchools Extremely NEGLIGENT to ignore the fact that too many children walk to school and too many educators have long commutes! These are dangerous conditions.
@LAUSDSup and School Board members, did any of you ask any @UTLAnow experts what is working with our students before getting rid of it? BrainPop, EdPuzzle, Flocabulary, IXL… so many great resources GONE! Why!??? This is DISGUSTING and a detriment to student engagement
@LAUSDSup I hope you heard what LAUSD parents had to say at the meeting today. They want transparency, trained engagement staff, and Primary Promise intervention for literacy support.

✊🏽 ✊🏾✊🏼STRIKE ANNOUNCEMENT: After a weekend of marathon bargaining, it is clear that OUSD still isn’t ready to get serious about reaching an agreement that will keep educators in Oakland and meet the needs of our students with increased mental health supports… (1/3)
One more thing about our contract victory: STRIKES WORK. The only reason Carvalho agreed to our gigantic package of demands is because he knew we - and SEIU - would strike again if we needed to.
I’m so proud of the @UTLAnow Bargaining Team & our whole membership! We won an amazing deal, and it’s because of our collective power. We also couldn’t have done it without our historic partnership with @SEIULocal99 during both of our contract campaigns. Here is a 🧵 of our wins:
DID YOU KNOW that there are 54 @UTLAnow members bargaining for the best possible learning and working conditions? We want to know .@LAUSDSup … if we’re still awake bargaining at 12:55am… are you?!
