Il Tribunale di Milano ha condannato Rcs, il direttore del Corriere della Sera Luciano Fontana e le giornaliste Monica Guerzoni e Fiorenza Sarzanini a risarcire il professor Alessandro Orsini per l'articolo pubblicato in prima pagina il 5 giugno 2022, che lo inseriva tra i cosiddetti putiniani d'Italia. La sentenza dispone un risarcimento di 27.500 euro, oltre a circa 5.000 euro di spese processuali. Ukraine’s scam call-centre industry can bring up to $1 billion a month, 1,000+ centres, ~60,000 workers (nearly 2/3 the size of the legal banking sector), Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime research reveals.

Only 10-15% of calls still target Russia. Victims now include Ukrainians, refugees and people in 29+ countries (Poland, Czechia, Romania, Latvia, Canada, US…).

This is the same business to which Yermak's close ally Mykola Tyshchenko, an MP of Zelenskyy's faction, is said to be connected to, and the businessman in Monaco who was blown up few weeks ago, is said to be connected to.

Centres openly recruit on TikTok & Telegram as “customer managers,” sit in normal business centres, and already deploy AI, deepfakes and voice cloning.

The system is deeply entranched into everyday reality and ordinary people pay for it. It functions so weel that should be covered by some agencies. Otehrwise, it would not be able to operate so freely and long.

Ukraine (along with several other countries) has been repeatedly cited in law-enforcement reports and investigative journalism as a location where organized groups have run large-scale call-center fraud operations targeting victims abroad. These have included tech-support scams, government-impersonation scams, romance/investment fraud, and similar schemes.
