“It’s coming home!”🇮🇹
I am happy to share - belatedly as per usual - that after 3 fun years at @umsbe, in October I have joined @Unipisa as a Tenure-track assistant Professor of Economics.
Additionally:
✏️we test whether country groups adjusts its contribution when the efficiency of the PGs changes
✏️ we devise a questionnaire to assess the impact of a sense of identity and EU perceptions and to control for the impact of COVID-19 and the war in Ukraine

In this paper we use the MLPGG to study attitudes towards national public budgets and a European public budget in six Member States of the European Union
✏️The main aim is to test to what extent propensities to contribute to public goods differ across countries

📌The model is too optimistic in predicting the weakness of the lobby in sustaining a market where no firms abate their emissions
📌The model is too pessimistic in predicting the strength of the lobby in preventing a market where all firms decide to abate their emissions

In this paper, we combine Game Theory and Agent-Based Modelling by using ABM to test the robustness of theoretical predictions:
📌We devise an ABM version of the menu auction Lobbying games
📌We find that the theoretical predictions are overall robust
However:
📌Total contribution remains unchanged ➡ NO Marginal crowding-in effect
📌Subjects who play the multilevel #PublicGoodsGame contribute more than subjects that play a standard #PublicGoodsGame ➡ Categorical crowding-in effect
📌 Contribution to the global public good increases when relative efficiency increases ➡ Levelling-up effect
📌At the same time, contribution to the local good decreases ➡ Substitution effect

I enjoyed presenting our paper today at @veda_econmuni. Several interesting questions and a friendly environment. Thanks to all participants and thanks to @MatteoMMarini1 for the invitation
