A Polish couple were descending from Grossglockner along a narrow mountain ridge when an Austrian guide and his group tried to squeeze past them. When the Polish climber objected, the man reportedly snapped: “I’m a mountain guide, shut up!” — and then threatened to hit him.

Seconds later, the guide pushed past the climber’s wife, pinned her against the rock and confronted the Polish man — just inches from a steep drop.

The entire incident was caught on video. The local mountain and ski guides’ association called the behavior “catastrophic and absolutely unacceptable” and said it would no longer assign him work. Police and prosecutors have opened an investigation, and the guide could face up to three months in prison.
