Joe Shmoe

Just another soldier guarding a pile of sticks...

[Joe Shmoe @MarcosCWestB1]

Now, I reflect on the events of the battle. If we were better outfitted, we may have faired better. We were driven out easily. #NMHShistory

[Joe Shmoe @MarcosCWestB1]

I remain home enjoying what time I can gather with my family. I may have to be sent out again soon so I keep that in mind. #NMHShistory

[Joe Shmoe @MarcosCWestB1]

Well, the word of his failure has been received. Apparently they agree that we were inadequately supplied and stood no chance. #NMHShistory

[Joe Shmoe @MarcosCWestB1]

Now that we are home, I wonder what will happen to colonel Washington once news of his failure is received.#NMHShistory

[Joe Shmoe @MarcosCWestB1]

We've made it back to Virginia. I was greeted at the door by my wife and daughters.I've never been so happy to see their faces.#NMHShistory

[Joe Shmoe @MarcosCWestB1]

My family will see me soon. Some however won't be so lucky. Many men were lost back there. I can't believe I made it out. #NMHShistory

[Joe Shmoe @MarcosCWestB1]

As we make our way back, I think of the fallen. Brave men lost their lives in that battle. I wish their families the best. #NMHShistory

[Joe Shmoe @MarcosCWestB1]

We're heading home now. I can't wait too see the smile on my family's face as I greet them. The French can keep that fort! #NMHShistory

[Joe Shmoe @MarcosCWestB1]

We're abandoning Fort Necessity now. I can already see the Indians looting the place. Best not to interfere... #NMHShistory

[Joe Shmoe @MarcosCWestB1]

We may have lost but at least I still have my life. We stood no chance and could not continue. #NMHShistory

[Joe Shmoe @MarcosCWestB1]

I'm happy to say that the surrender document has been signed. I've never been so ecstatic about losing before. #NMHShistory

[Joe Shmoe @MarcosCWestB1]

The French want us to surrender now or else the Indians will storm our fort and scalp us... sounds painful. #NMHShistory

[Joe Shmoe @MarcosCWestB1]

I'm so relieved. The French sent an officer under a white flag to negotiate. I may actually see my home again! #NMHShistory

[Joe Shmoe @MarcosCWestB1]

Rain set in and wet all of our gunpowder. Why doesn't our fort just collapse while we're at it. Nothing is going our way! #NMHShistory

[Joe Shmoe @MarcosCWestB1]

There are so many of them! We keep firing but the volleys won't end! I hope I live to see tomorrow...#NMHShistory

[Joe Shmoe @MarcosCWestB1]

The Virginians deserted us! After they left we were greatly outnumbered and were forced to flee. We will not win this. #NMHShistory

[Joe Shmoe @MarcosCWestB1]

The French saw us coming! They sent their soldiers at us with screaming Indians leading the charge. We must hold the line! #NMHShistory

[Joe Shmoe @MarcosCWestB1]

Colonel Washington just ordered every soldier here to march across an open field and attack. We either win or lose here... #NMHShistory

[Joe Shmoe @MarcosCWestB1]

Colonel Washington spotted the French approaching the fort. We must prepare for battle! We will not fall today! #NMHShistory

[Joe Shmoe @MarcosCWestB1]

Waiting for an attack, I sit here examining my rifle. The French will be here in a couple of days and this fort won't hold them.#NMHShistory
