🚨Two 11-year-old girls were sexually assaulted in broad daylight in Burnley.

It happened between 1:30–2:30pm on 6 August near Pendle Way, Gannow Lane and the subway connecting them.
The girls managed to escape and get help. A 59-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.

Police still need witnesses. If you were in the area or have CCTV/dashcam footage, call 101 quoting log 0899 of 6 August.

School Pathway Concern
Unfortunately, some migrants have discovered a secluded footpath that is used by hundreds of schoolchildren. The path runs between Fermor Primary School and the Green Lane Sixth Form site.
While this is less of an issue during the school holidays, in a few weeks’ time the children will be returning to school, which is understandably concerning.
We hope the Home Office will reiterate during inductions that school areas and routes used by children should be avoided, as was stated at the community centre meeting.
Our teams will resume covering the school drop-off and collection times in September and, until then, will continue to patrol the parks and town centre.
