12 SENATORS ENOUGH TO CREATE QUORUM - SC RULING
The new Senate majority bloc on Wednesday cited the Supreme Court’s ruling on Avelino v. Cuenco as their legal basis for the leadership revamp in the chamber.
The case involves 12 senators who held a quorum after then Senate President Jose Avelino and nine of his allies walked out of the session and replaced him with Sen. Mariano Jesus Cuenco.

Mark was my classmate in Senior High School. He’s a bright, independent-minded person who understands Philippine politics well.
| via Jecelle Ricafort, DZRH News
The International Criminal Court (ICC) has been informed of a complaint against senators and an official who are accused of helping Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa—who is wanted by the international tribunal—evade arrest last month.

⚠️ In the case of Sen. Trillanes vs. Pimentel (2008), the SC said all prisoners even if elected can’t hold office.
Thus, detained Senators are not part of counting for quorum.
Jinggoy being in jail means the quorum is not 13 out of 24. It’s 12 out of 23. 👊
Iyak mga DDS! 😂

May selective amnesia ba si Sen. Pia Cayetano?
But check the receipt! On May 5, 2015, only 12 senators were present. Guess who sat there and proudly let the Senate run on that exact “Avelino vs Cuenco” dynamic quorum math?
“Cayetano, P. S."
Basic math is for Grade 1; constitutional law is for senators. Don't play dumb now, Pia!
The line between a legitimate legislative inquiry and a desperate political stunt has officially been crossed.
Solar project bust: Gov’t takes Leandro Leviste to court, seeks asset freeze
The Department of Energy (DOE) has sued lawmaker Leandro Leviste and his renewable energy firm over the alleged non-delivery of a 120-megawatt solar project.

Loren Legarda was about to join Chiz Escudero to be with the new majority but she wanted to have Energy Secretary Garin ousted from the Cabinet. This is because of Leandro Leviste’s solar power scandal. Malacañang declined.
