Personal update - I have a quarter tank of gas, food/water for a week or so, no paper money (whoops) and no power. Cell service just returned and Water seems to be functioning somewhat (not drinking). Not willing to travel until I can find gas nearby.. which seems impossible.

@JimKittridge North of Carolina boulevard were all underwater at some point. Looks like water crossed south of Carolina boulevard on the west side of downtown near the fire station, but river level is down now. Biggest issue here is food/water/power and cell connectivity.

All roads in and out of Asheville, NC are still closed! It sounds like Asheville is still only accessible by air unless you head up from I26, and even then you will encounter closures before the city. This is an absolute mega disaster for western NC on the order of Hurricane Katrina
