@misdon1962 I don’t want to put him in that bracket on the whole, watching at the ground he works his tail off. I just really hate this aspect of his game
As a senior player on significant money, Redman’s running shots from 50 out can get in the bin. They used to be fun, now they’re just selfish. #AFLNorthDons
@braydenjmay That softens the blow a little. I’m still traumatised from seeing this stuff in 2022 for the 150 year celebrations and then rolling over against Carlton.
Andrew Welsh leaned on a ticket of unity and alignment to claim the Essendon presidency in September last year and within 9 months he’s had to replace the CEO and sacked the man he repeatedly said weeks ago would be the next premiership coach 🤔
@den_shorts I feel like almost any other team in the playoffs would be bringing Bones or Conley into every action on defence like we had to suffer through with MPJ. Their insistence on the two man game and the lack of adaptability is disappointing for such a vet, high IQ team
“I have said this for three years, I am never going to tell Essendon fans to be patient. I reckon 25 years is long enough to hear the same message…”
A week is a long time in footy 🙃
"We're going through a difficult time at the moment, but we'll be fine... there might be some short term pain, but we're willing to endure that."
Brad Scott on the message to Essendon fans.

Essendon’s rebuild is such a daunting prospect because of a shocking decade of drafting. Hobbs gone today, the Perkins-Reid-Cox combo still finding its feet and Tsatas drifting in no-man’s land puts an awful lot of pressure on this year’s hand.
Ben Hobbs and Luamon Lual have been informed they won't receive contracts next season.
All the best for the future, lads. Thanks for your time in the sash 🫶
"The club has to have a good, hard look at themselves."
Speaking to Tom Morris, Matthew Lloyd reacts to the stunning news Essendon captain Zach Merrett met with Hawthorn.

Essendon fans turning on Zach Merrett plunges the current era into new depths of hell.
The guy missed one game after breaking his hand to play two meaningless matches at the end of this season.
Fans should be frustrated by the disease, not the latest symptom.
What is “minor” about a hamstring strain that puts you out for longer than a standard 21-day recovery? These injury reports toss up more questions than answers 🤷🏼♂️
Usman Khawaja making his first double century in Sri Lanka, the same place where he was dropped in 2016 when his inability to handle spin was so brutally exposed, is another great chapter in such a stellar career. This from @danbrettig at the time, hard to believe now #SLvsAUS
There’s so much Sydney 2008 to this. Mark Benson and Steve Buckner howling with laughter at Joel Wilson’s afternoon. All that’s left is the threat to go home afterward. #AUSvIND
Heppell, Hurley, Hooker, Watson. Arguably four of the club’s best players since 2000 and not a shred of team success between them breaks a fan’s heart.
When Zach Merrett makes his retirement speech, I hope he has more significant memories than Anzac Day games.
What a final quarter from Sam Draper today and it’s absolutely no coincidence that it came once Bryan was subbed, and he assumed sole ruck duties. The evidence to dump the two rucks approach is simply overwhelming by now - scramble the 20 minutes that he rests. #AFLDonsFreo
This is bang on, but even concerning is the president using those picks to defend Dodoro’s position just a few weeks ago. If he’s going to play that game, there’s an Aaron Francis for every Sam Durham.
Adrian Dodoro has received plenty of praise for adding the likes of Nic Martin and Sam Durham in the SSP and the mid-year draft, but draft misses like the three in 2020 set you back 5-10 years.
