We’re looking for a handful of beta users.
We’ve launched Spatchy - a business management tool small businesses.
6 months of free access in return for regular check-ins on how the app is doing and what we can do better.
DM if you want to chat.
@JamesonCamp The best perspective example I ever saw was this:
10 million seconds = 0.32 of a year
1 billion seconds = 31.69 years
The gap is a chasm you just don’t realize looking at the two plain numbers on their own.
If your market is anything like mine, there’s more work than there are companies to do it.
So if you’re just starting out in lawncare, housecleaning etc., call up the established players and ask to be their overflow go-to.
They’re turning down lots of work because they are to busy.
It’s a better customer experience for them to pass someone along to you instead of flat-out saying no.
But you better deliver over-the-top results.
Bad feedback from even one customer will sink any future referrals.
Good luck!
A dear friend of mine, and someone many of you know, was recently diagnosed stage 4 lung cancer.
He is being seen at Sloan, which is great.
I've been reading about new treatments, particularly with AI.
I know nothing about this stuff.
But I desperately want to help a buddy and know I have a bunch of smart, powerful people in my audience.
If there's anyone out there that thinks they can point him into a helpful directly, please email me: [email protected].
Don’t forget the hidden costs when quoting a job:
- drive time to and from
- staff breaks
- gas spent driving
- sundry items quickly replaced
It’s not much per job but adds up substantially over time.
No I get that. Obviously everyone brings complimentary strengths. But words matter. And statements like blanket can’t and terms like genetically aren’t built to do something is not part of a productive conversation. Your statement here makes sense. Nicks doesn’t. It’s condescending, ignorant and places further necessary stigma against women.
@MireCpa@sweatystartup Haha if you’re married to a woman please go tell your wife she’s genetically inferior to you and that you are absolutely better at raising boys if you either have them or in theory.
I’ll wait. lol
@ChuckMazzanti@sweatystartup lol: “Single mothers for the most part can’t raise good men.”
Then doubles down saying genetically they are basically inferior.
I like Nick, but this comment is honestly disgusting.
About as gross a misrepresentation as you can come up with.
Avoid shiny object syndrome when you’re starting out.
You can mow lawns, maintain properties, clean houses, all with second-hand, slightly busted looking, equipment.
Get a stable customer base, regular cashflow and experience before buying new things.
I learned early on you need to slow down. And you need to attack their approach from a few angles so they see what you want. And you need a good overhead view of what you’re trying to achieve. Blindly trusting gets it done but in the straightest line possible, which is most often not the best route.
