Depression is more than just sadness. It impacts thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and physical health. 

Depression is not universal, and while there is a general cluster of symptoms, it manifests differently in everyone. 

It is not always obvious when someone is suffering with depression. Someone could look like the happiest person in the world, but be suffering deeply inside. 

Depression is not a choice. Depression is not laziness. It doesn't have a quick fix. Someone with depression cannot just "cheer up." 

Talking saves lives. Silence doesn't.
