The Philippine tarsier is one of the world’s smallest primates, measuring ~5 in (13 cm) long & weighing ~5 oz (142 g)—roughly as large as a baseball. It uses its large eyes (each of which is about the size of its brain) to hunt insects at twilight.

@alexlindsay Ah ok. I would suggest then the Vortex Viper HD 8×42 binocular.
A premium-quality binocular with great value and quaility glass at $489. Rugged, compact & lightweight as she explores the world of our feathered friends. Happy to rec great bird stores who send directly. LMK
@alexlindsay@alexlindsay Celestron are also good as their optics are know for telescopes they make as you may know. Is your wife just getting into birding, intermediate or seasoned birder. This makes all the difference on what I would specifically suggest to you. LMK thanks @MardiWD
@alexlindsay It depends @alexlindsay how you want to use them? I am picky about sharpness, color of light. 8×42’s are a great middle road biggest eye area to track. lighter get the 7x32’s. Boats 10’s. Look at Leica, Swarovski, Zeiss, Kowa, Nikon, Vortex. Happy to help. https://t.co/ZWT0sdCAId
Tragic news; The Icelandic gyrfalcon population has been hit hard by the ongoing wave of avian influenza in recent years. Once numbering around 2,000 birds, the population has now collapsed to roughly 500 individuals, according to Ólafur Karl Nielsen, ornithologist and Iceland’s leading expert on the species.

@ATT your communication cell towers in this area you are unaware of 42.96123° N, 72.83216° W. They are down mostly for days!! No connection when calling or receiving, drop calls, jumbled voices. Pls fix this asap! I reported to @ATT to fix asap towers in area above.
Been on hardcore-birding hiatus for a while, but decided to head out this morning… Found a freakin Townsend’s Warbler!!! Equally as excited that several chicagoans got to see it as well!!
By transforming how user-community decision-making is equitably supported in places around the world, the Half-Earth Project is convening and advancing a global movement for biodiversity to ensure we leave no species behind.
Coming out of the field I always take the time to clean my equipment. Remember, its always best and highly suggested to keep your optics (no matter what they are) as clean and in good shape as you possible can. https://t.co/b9VlEZsdfj
RIP Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter, who lived an exemplary life. My deepest condolences to President Jimmy Carter and the entire Carter family on the loss of their esteemed matriarch. @CarterCenter
650 soldiers who survived the First World War pay homage to the horses that fell in battle. Millions of horses and other animals also served during wartime, and one special photo shows just how much their human counterparts appreciated the war horses and their sacrifice. This touching black and white photo is believed to have been taken by officers of the Auxiliary Remount Dept. No.326 in Camp Cody, New Mexico in 1919.
I’m thrilled to share that I am joining @ABCbirds as the Managing Editor of its member magazine, Bird Conservation! When my previous magazine, @BirdWatchDaily, closed recently, I could not have imagined that I’d be lucky enough to edit another terrific bird magazine... 3/3
I absolutely love Thrushes. and why I choose the Wood Thrush flute calls for @BirdCallsRadio & Mascot logo that is an important conservation concern to protect. Thx for sharing Andy @Revkin
The April flute-like calls and responses of thrushes here in #downeast Maine were beautiful. But this musical moment at dusk in July was really something. #soundon ! #birdsong
