I created a video from 124 still images that I took in Longyearbyen in 2019. The video shows how two Glaucous gulls had protein-rich dinner. Within 5 minutes or so, the two gulls just picked and swallowed 5 or maybe 6 little ducklings. Full length video👉https://t.co/SXQx9zvKCV

First travel (domestic) since COVID-19 outbreak in South Korea. In KTX, the complimentary box contained nuts, a cookie and a hand towel but now the snacks are replaced with a mask! Yeah, we should wear a mask whole time. Don’t even think about snacking.😹🥴😷

I've been observing a Eurasian Magpie couple's nestbuilding for about a week. Now they are finalizing the nice house. Soon the female will lay eggs and start incubating. They are hard-working and cooperative each other! The video was taken yesterday.

While waiting for the green light at crosswalk, I was surpirsed to see three pygmy woodpeckers suddenly appeared and started pecking on a naked pine tree on the other side. They were totally exposed for 15 seconds and then flew away. I was lucky to carry my camera at that moment.

Features of A. superciliosa: relatively clear face stripes, green speculum, narrow speculum borders
Features of A. platyrhynchos: grayish-yellow beak, orange legs, dark brown face

Compared with the previous hybrid, this individual has more consistent features of A. superciliosa (Pacific Black Duck): creamy face, no white speculum borders, grary brown legs, gray beak. But nobody knows what kind of genetic mixture this one has without testing it.😁

While I was observing the magpie couple building nest, a gang of feral pigeons appeared in my view. So I slightly changed the angle of my camera and shoot their relaxed way of life. They seem to enjoy the urban setting.

I noticed a couple of magpie was repeatedly bringing twigs and branches onto a pine tree in my residental area. Although their nesting is far away from my observational point, I managed to capture their activity as a video.
