EYFS have been learning about minibeasts this half term and have enjoyed a lovely 'bee party' today for World Bee Day! We dressed up in yellow and black, tried honey sandwiches and did lots of bee themed activities around the classroom!
Year 4 had a brilliant last day of term! We began with a maths Easter Egg hunt where the children had to find eggs and then the person with the answer to their question!
We then had some of our parents come in to help us with our D&T project to make pizzas! What a brilliant day!
How lucky are Year 3 to have had children’s author Chloe Savage on a live author event this morning! They loved designing their jellyfish and listening to her story!
Year 3 are using the chrome books this morning to find out information about attractions in Hull to include in our persuasive text about visiting Hull!
Year 4 had the best time yesterday at the Hull and East Riding museum! We got to meet an Anglo-Saxon who taught us all about her life. We even got to make our own Viking brooches! What a fantastic day!
Year 3 have made dice using our microbits! We are testing out just how random the microbits are by comparing with real dice rolls! #computing#coding#microbits
Today Year 3 evaluated their prototypes and lots of us decided we needed to make our joins better and smooth out the sides, so we investigated using slip! We got very messy!
Year 3 have made some prototypes from clay to evaluate once they are dry. Have they held their shape? Do they feel strong? Have the joins stayed together?
Year 3 have had so much fun with the drama opportunities that have presented themselves in our guided reading book - Captain Cat. We have done freeze frames, role play, hot seating and conscience alley!
Year 3 have finished reading 'Who's afraid of the big bad book' and have composed some questions for the wonderful author Lauren Child! Who is your favourite character in the book? What inspired you to write this book? How long did it take you to write this book? #laurenchild
Year 4 made some beautiful pieces yesterday inspired by Andy Goldsworthy
We were trialing in groups how to use natural materials so we are ready for making our own pieces next week!
Year 4 had a real treat yesterday as we had a visit from the Sound of Science Music Workshop! We learned lots about how sound is made through vibrations and we even heard some beautiful Christmas music to get us into the Christmas spirit!
