We’ve had a great time in Mexico this week. The trip has been full and so busy that I haven’t been able to share much at all. After a wonderful day traveling from Comitan to Tuxtla, visiting some Mayan ruins and San Cristobal’s old city area - we arrived tired to Tuxtla.

The good time was marred by our experience @Marriott in Tuxtla. It began with my reservation not being honored as i booked it. My Platinum Elite status guarantees my reservation will be honored but not here. Then worse, there was no true apology, not recognition of my status as a @MarriottBonvoy member. *Did I mention that I booked 5 rooms here for the next 2 nights.*

I was given no explanation of the hotel and its features - breakfast, pool, etc. I wasn’t offered a choice between the extra points or a voucher toward food in the restaurant.

Then the bed had blood stains, not in one room but two. I expected outdated but not unclean. If I had a broom I would sweep the bathroom too.

To top it off @MarriottIntl or any of the other branche’s customer service is impossible to reach. Website locked up. To call would cost me and I know, I would be put on hold.

This, and an episode, last fall is making me rethink my loyalty to this brand. It may be time to dive in with another. Thanks for letting me vent!

Freedom isn’t life without boundaries. Freedom is the opportunity to do what is right and honor the boundary markers. God sees when every marker is moved and those who sow the sin of rebellion and thievery will reap if they do not repent.

Let’s learn to celebrate the boundaries as blessings and live in true freedom.
