Think it’s non-trivially about their own feelings of deracination as ‘ex-Muslims’ (he kind of gives this away in the thread).
it baffles me how people are pro nuclear energy. like it produces waste that is deadly for thousands of years, in case of an accident can contaminate an area of 10s or even 100s thousands of square kilometers.
also it need constant cooling which is a big problem in times draughts
It’s even weirder when you realise there is still an operational pipeline running through Ukraine from Russia to the EU which both Ukraine and Russia make money from. So indirectly, Russia is sponsoring Ukraine’s war effort and vice-versa.
It is really funny how the American government banned importing oil from Russia, but keeps importing 15% of its uranium from Russia. Before the war, 1% of American oil consumption was imported from Russia.
But what if growth is going to be much harder than in the past? What in a world of recurring and worsening extreme weather events, crop failures, food and water shortages, and the conflicts all these help produce, would make anyone think “growth” in general is guaranteed? 9/n
