Race entered the picture when experienced managers were removed and replaced without ensuring equivalent expertise or a proper transition. The issue wasn’t race itself, but the loss of institutional knowledge and capability. Competent managers of any background were overlooked, while political considerations outweighed operational reality. Farming punishes that kind of decision-making fast.
