Diego Solier y Nora Junco, eurodiputados españoles del ECR, votaron en contra de la medida que permitirá a la UE escanear los mensajes privados de los europeos, en contraste con su ex compañero de partido, Alvise Pérez, que votó a favor.

Cuatro de los seis eurodiputados de VOX en el Parlamento Europeo también votaron en contra: Margarita de la Pisa, Martín Frías, Mireia Borrás y Hermann Tertsch. Jorge Buxadé y Juan Carlos Girauta no votaron.

Los otros 10 representantes españoles que votaron en contra proceden de Compromís, Sumar, Podemos, PNV, Bildu y BNG.

El PP y el PSOE votaron en bloque a favor a excepción de cuatro eurodiputados populares y uno socialista que no acudieron a la votación.
