This is communism not socialism.
NYC is on the verge of electing a 33 year old communist with no work or executive experience who is promising to make tons of things free, all paid for by people who work for a living, by raising taxes on working people in a City that already has the highest tax rate in the country and has the most people leaving than anywhere else in the country . Oh yes he is also an anti-semite in a City with the most Jews outside of Israel.
All because 5% of Dem voters voted for him and he got the Dem line on the ballot. People like @RepJerryNadler@NydiaVelazquez endorsed him because he got the line. Good comrades.
There is nothing about any of this that makes any sense.
We must continue to resist.

Ten months in on socialism. Here goes.
New York City is spending a fortune on services for individuals in need of housing and this is the result of the hands off policies of this administration and the refusal to hold the NGO’s accountable.
I realize we are shouting into the wind in NYC today. But we are going to keep shouting . It’s our right and our duty.
In this environment it takes courage for anyone in office to call out anything so thank you @vmmaloney .
@OneCityRisingNY
I walked by 23rd and the FDR drive yesterday to this.
My office has repeatedly reported issues at this intersection. DSS has offered temporary fixes, but the problem persists.
This is unacceptable. We need an encampment tracking plan that translates into immediate, coordinated action btn city agencies. New Yorkers deserve safe public spaces, and those living on our streets deserve meaningful assistance.
Good morning from NYC.
The encampments here are growing by the day as @NYPDnews has been told to let them be. The AG refuses to investigate fraud and corruption so the homeless will continue to not get help and services.
It’s hard to cross a street safely when food delivery e-bikes zoom by at high speeds through red lights, without any regulation or enforcement of traffic laws. As a lifelong New Yorker the city is well on its way to a dystopian version of the 70’s . People are moving here for all the free stuff being given away on the taxpayers’ dime while the moderates are fleeing to low.
Meanwhile Texas flipped and Florida barely held on.
We are a microcosm of what is to come.

@NYCPublicPolicy@NYPDnews I completely agree. I have been watching these numbers go down for the last two years and have been shocked it was not getting more press. They are trying to hide it . @OneCityRisingNY will be covering this.
If anyone thinks last night was a win for moderates, it wasn’t. At least not in NY.
Albany got back its super majority so there are literally no guardrails left for NY Dem moderate voters.
All the boomer liberals are smiling this morning thinking we are “back to normal.” Just wait .
It will take generations to undo the harm that the next few years will bring and a very long time if ever before there will be a course correction in this State which has now managed to go even more blue.
There are ways through this but it won’t be easy and it will take real organizing, leadership and dedication. Who has the chops for this? You tell me. Because it wasn’t the other team in NY who underperformed badly even with a good candidate like @sarithaforny .
Otherwise as goes NY as goes the country.

@ejmarkow@NYPDnews I have heard very good things about Poland. Low crime, clean streets, good quality of life. Who would have ever thought we would get to this .
@Kat555645277103@NYPDnews I don’t think so. She has learned she can do whatever they ask, and it won’t hurt her. But not doing what they want will hurt her
I really hope everyone can take a few minutes to read this astonishing reporting from @nypost@HannahFNYP on how an ordinary apartment building filled with hard-working New Yorkers has become unlivable because of twisted housing policies.
The City has been doing this quietly behind the scenes and finally, thankfully, it’s being made public.
We are supposed to be in the midst of a severe affordable housing crisis, but the City seems to be adopting policies that will ensure even less housing is available to the working people they claim to care about. They are removing apartments from the market and letting NGO’s rent them out at a big profit. Then what will happen?
This is what the future holds for buildings all across the five boroughs once the NGO’s get their greedy hands on empty units and fill them with people who will push out the long term tenants.
It may be hard to believe this is even actually happening, but it is. This building is right down the street from me and I know many of the residents who have been complaining about this ever since building resident Maria Hernandez was brutally murdered by a super the building hired who was right out of prison! ( He is in jail now serving a life sentence for the murder.)
What is being done to these tenants is wrong and unfair. This cannot become policy because every neighborhood in NYC will be destabilized.
I really hope NYC leaders will take this very seriously and put a stop to this. It’s unfair to the people being dumped into apartments because they need supportive housing with real help, not this!
If you live in a building where the city is taking housing for working people off the market so greedy NGO’s can make money, please get in touch with @OneCityRisingNY . You have options.
I hope more media covers this! The public needs to know.

Today in NYC:
Out canvassing a woman came up to us on the UWS and said in a somewhat hysterical voice:
“ Everybody told me I had to vote against Donald Trump, so I went to the polling place and I got my ballot, but there was no Trump on the ballot!!!! I went over to the helper and I asked them, where is Donald Trump? I can’t find him on the ballot. Where is he? And the poll worker said, oh, you have to come back in 2028.”
Everybody: you really need to vote. Go out and vote today. You can vote for or against whomever you want. You know what I’m doing and what I think you should do, but ultimately it’s up to you. ( I voted for @NassauExec and @sarithaforny at the top and gave @TomDiNapoli my vote. ) The most important thing is to participate because there are a lot of low information voters out there, and it’s up to us to make it right.
There is one aspect of the New York ballot where I am going to stick my neck out and say please vote this way: and that is to vote NO on all five ballot proposals.
Just remember that these proposals are being pushed by someone with zero municipal government experience and who ignored the vast majority of people testifying in favor of Open Primaries.
These proposals do not want to give communities more voice, they want to take our voice away. They don’t want to give voters more voting rights. They want to deny them to the over 1.2 million voters who cannot participate in the elections where the winners are chosen. Don’t let them. Vote NO.

@themockingjew@nypost@HannahFNYP Yes but raising the funds for a lawsuit is always a challenge for working people, as the city knows. We need more organizations. to step up in New York and help fund litigations against these radical policies that will be destroying our city one building at a time
