As cullings tear through Punjab, the "what ifs" weigh so heavy on my heart. If only I had unlimited resources, I would build sanctuaries in every single city across Pakistan and implement mass TNVR. I would save every last one of them. That is my true dream. Until dreams come true, we will keep fighting for every single life we can reach today ππΌ
We bring you some good news in these dark days and that is our tiny Dimitri has responded well to treatment and is doing so much better. We hope that once he's fully recovered we can find him a safe home so he never has to see the cruel streets of Pakistan ever again π #Dimitri
We are tired. Drained. Heartbroken.
Every day we are picking up dead bodies, terrified survivors, and orphaned babies after the mass dog killings happening across Punjab. Our team is beyond exhausted.
We do not have enough space.
We do not have enough funds.
But the suffering does not stop.
Pleaseβ¦ we desperately need donations to continue. Rescue vehicles, petrol, emergency treatments, medicines, surgeries, food, staff wagesβeverything is becoming impossible to manage while this crisis keeps growing around us.
Even court orders and policies promoting sterilization instead of killing are being ignored.
Please help us.
Raise your voice. Share these stories. Put pressure wherever possible. Maybe if the world speaks loudly enough, the government will finally listen.
These animals needed compassion, not bullets.

This poor seedy boy is Onslow. I'd seen him on the cameras for 2 nights, racing though my garden, barely stopping long enough to eat.
I'd sampled a poo he'd left and it was full of deadly fluke eggs, so I was very happy to catch him at 2.30 this morning, by setting driveway alarms to wake me to his presence.
Fluke is a parasitic worm that infects the bile ducts and liver, causing chronic painful inflammation and liver damage, and eventual death if not treated.
Hedgehogs get fluke by either being forced through starvation to eat the intermediate hosts (such as slugs and snails, which carry the parasite), or from drinking contaminated water.
Please do ensure you keep all outside food and water dishes as clean as you would your own dinnerware.
Standing water is dangerous. Always refresh daily.
I've seen very kind people leave out water with pebbles in, for insects to access.
Unfortunately they tend not to change and wash this daily, so it's a magnet for all sorts of microscopic pathogens, including fluke and mosquito-borne diseases.
So to make insect drinkers easier to clean, a shallow dish of water with some floating leaves, or a half submerged stick, or a single large stone, is much safer.
Fluke is extremely painful and the hedgehog, without the perspicacity to know the source of the torment they are suffering is inside them, tries to run from the pain.
I often get calls from the public saying they have seen a hedgehog out in the day for a couple of days but, "I think he's okay - he's not lethargic or sunbathing like in that poster, he's running around quite happily!"
They are devastated to learn that the 'happily racing around' hedgehog they've seen for a couple of days was actually running to escape pure agony.
Poor darling Onslow has had his first fluke treatment this morning, along with the critical antibiotic cover and pain relief, and is now sleeping peacefully, probably for the first time in days.β€οΈ
In a historic victory, the courts have mandated an end to the mass killing of street dogs and ordered the government to implement mass TNVR.
We have fought for this moment for years. But now, the real work begins. To transform an entire countryβs approach to animal welfare, we need international help and support. This is a mammoth task to save the dogs of Pakistan, but for the first time, we have the law on our side. Spread the word as we need help with mass TNVR ππΌ
Putting this out into the universe.
Is there someone out there who could donate or sponsor a rescue van for our work π. One van means countless animals saved.
If you canβt donate then please share, the right person just might see this plea ππΌ
