Had a great time at this year’s Denton ISD Admin Luncheon and Kick-off catching up with fellow colleagues and being motivated by @jkwilsiii! Here’s to the best school year! #DentonISDEngaged
Due to the medical model's influence on special education, there is a systemic focus on "fixing students" who are labeled with a disability instead of creating learning environments that adapt classrooms to meet their needs and acknowledge their social identity. — T. Knestrict
As an admin, I loved visiting classrooms & watching teachers in action. When I left, I would leave a post it note on their desk telling them how lucky their students were to have them & share something I learned or enjoyed about the visit. I called them

Ask me any day what I love most about serving @RiveraElem and my answer will always be how we celebrate diversity and unity! Today we wrapped up our #BlackHistoryMonth celebrations with our living museum.

This man has changed peoples lives for the better. He believes in us, motivates us, and inspires us. Our lives are better because of him and we will continue his legacy! @MarvynCWhite@TomasRiveraElem
@MartinOdimaJr No it’s not just you. Stay strong and always advocate for yourself and your students. It’s the only way. We have to continue to fight for what is right.

Students who have IEPs are not "special education students." They are just students. They belong to every teacher they have. Receiving a service doesn't change a students identity as a student. #LeadInclusion#EdChat#UDL#Inclusion
Panther Nation, please join me in welcoming our new assistant principal, Mrs. Nitia Harris-Tilmon. We are so excited that she is joining our admin team.
