I train these clever creatures to save victims trapped in collapsed buildings after earthquakes. We kit them out with a rat backpack, and train them to trigger a switch when they find a victim & come back for a tasty treat 🐀

@kellyeld ❤️ Kelly this is stunning, not just visually. “And suddenly the room leaned in…”
This also happens when people create division, I’ve seen it so many times how people are influenced by maleness, power and ignorance @CarolGilligan1
Animal shelter security footage captured a scared dog with a large St Bernard.
I had a St Bernard and this is exactly how loving they are❣️
I’d adopt them both!
@middletemple This is such a fabulous story, Leonie’s lived experience would make her a powerful advocate for young people who face the challenges she did. I would love to know what turned it around for her

Thankyou @fergalkeane47 for your honesty
@PatricKielty Your light shines brightest through your broken places, and your lived experience is not forgotten 🫶
@PatricKielty
Northern Ireland people lived inside the blast radius. The gap: experiential, emotional, historical: still shapes how people understand (or fail to understand) what “The Troubles” meant as a lived reality rather than a “distant rumble”
@fergalkeane47
To underestimate is to fail to recognise blind bias,
Survival strategies look like “avoidance”
The emotional exhaustion of tension and the breath of hyper vigilance.
The political charge, felt every single day, Socio-political becomes a defence.
@CrohnsColitisUK Thank you 😞
Andrew was diagnosed Stage 4 cancer and I can’t help but wonder why this wasn’t picked up sooner, after a long standing history of Crohn’s, diagnosed when he was a teenager.
Remembering my nieces partner Andrew who we laid to rest last Friday.
Grief never ends.
But it changes.
It's a passage, not a place to stay
Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith.
It is the price of love and connection.
RIP Andrew David Plant

This is how a little puppy reacts when it hears the baby in its owner's womb for the first time: thanks to its ultrasonic hearing, it can detect the fetal heartbeat and movements from week 28 of pregnancy. 🐶👶
The 11 Classic Ego Functions and Associated Defenses
The concept of "ego defenses" is smart, tried and true, and worth spending time with. It covers many different facets of personal and social relationship, resource management, resilience, character, reflective function, emotion regulation, and things of that nature.
Key points
In traditional psychoanalytic theory, the ego develops to mediate between inner and outer worlds.
Eleven ego functions offer a window into how we manage ourselves and our environment.
The complex interplay of ego functions and defenses requires strong, integrated brain and mental function.
