Yesterday, on May 7, Votkinsk celebrated Tchaikovsky's 182th birthday🌹, one on the most beloved events for the locals. Concerts, tours, theatrical performances, books' presentations and gifts from the composer's relatives filled the day with incomparable feelings and emotions!🥳

Today with George Davydov, Tchaikovsky's greatgrandnephew, who presented in our museum his new book - Recollections by Yuri Davidov (his grandfather and Pyotr Tchaikovsky's nephew). Materials for this book - Yuri Davydov's manuscript had been saved in his family for many years!!!

Yuri Davydov (6 May 1876-1965) was the youngest of Tchaikovsky's nephews, being a son of his sister. He was the composer's last living near-relative. From 1945-62 was curator of the Tchaikovsky house museum at Klin.

@madigan_melvyn In august 1941 Yuri evacuated all the most treasured relics of Tchaikovsky museum in Klin to Votkinsk - Tchaikovsky native town - and thus save them for future generations.

On February 10, 185 years ago, Russia lost its greatest poet, Alexander #Pushkin. He was mortally wounded in a duel and died at the age of 37.🌹🌹🌹
