One of the first times I realized the 'public history' that's taught about something, the version 'everybody who counts believes' was fake was when it to Watergate.
I had read many of the books, including Woodward and Bernstein's book.
Then I read 'Silent Coup' and went back and reassessed.
So I'd already pretty much figured out - without still knowing many of the details that came out later - that the lionized version of Watergate was bullshit.
Then we found out 'Deep Throat' was Mark Felt, and years rolled by in which it became increasingly obvious that Woodward was CIA, and a serial fabulist.
We live in an age where all the lies and cover stories are falling apart, and people are looking for themselves to understand what happened, instead of just taking the word of institutional authority figures about it.
I'm glad the Nixon impeachment and Watergate is being reexamined.
@ColonelTowner The Man Who Would Be King starring Michael Cain & Sean Connery (written by Rudyard Kipling), reminds me of Zbigniew Brzezinski blowing smoke up the Afghan Mujahideen’s little egos to act as the stay behinds for US.
In Gateshead a young girl is blindfolded and dragged into an address by a grooming gang, she tries to escape but they drag her back.
Northumbria Police turn up 2 hours later, they don't put the men in cuffs and just allow one of them to come back up to her outside the address.
Northumbria Police were even offered this video as evidence but never came back to collect it. They commonly neglect evidence and then claim there isn't enough evidence to make any arrests.
The difference between Elon and this reporter:
Elon builds things millions of people use, love and benefit from
All this reporter produces is fake news: selective facts, dishonest framing and propaganda disguised as journalism
Just listen to her shouting throughout the interview. It looks less like journalism and more like watching a leftist protester being asked, “Which rights are you protesting for?”......only to reply, “Am I supposed to know that?”
One creates real value. The other manufactures fake outrage
Trust in legacy media has hit an all-time low. No wonder nobody trusts them anymore

“we have lived by lies”
Paul Marshall explains how decades of cultural deconstruction, loss of truth, and abandonment of shared values have left the West in crisis — and why the answer is not despair, but reconstruction.
