In case you needed further evidence that #pediatrics is an undervalued speciality, I just got off a call with a recruiter from @EagleTelemed offering me $16/hr to cover a 5 bed rural #PedsICU for 24 hrs via telemedicine due to a lack of in house physicians.

$400. Flat rate. For 24 hrs. No additional compensation for time spent managing pts. $400 flat rate to be immediately available at any moment day or night to manage a critically ill child by a physician double board certified in pediatrics and pediatric critical care. That’s less than minimum wage in some states.

I never expect to get paid well in peds, but that is insulting.
