They say it’s “complicated”. But somehow the bombs always fall on the same people. Somehow the children who die always speak the same languages. Somehow history never runs out of ways to repeat itself.
To see your country bombed and your loved ones in danger, while being unable to stop it is the worst feeling in the world!
I’m very happy to announce that my first academic journal article has been published in the Middle East Journal @MiddleEastInst
My article examines activism and community-based climate adaptation in Kuwait.
You can read it here: https://t.co/on8TyHgrCd
It looks at how the Gulf State has responded to climate change, and how sociopolitical factors such as citizenship, class, gender, and material resources affect climate vulnerability and the success of community-based climate response.
Having a parent die really changes you. Most coworkers and friends find out and say “sorry” one time and just forget. Meanwhile the fabric of what makes you as a person has been completely obliterated.
It’s been a year since I lost my dad to cancer, a year of feeling incredibly lost in the world that he isn’t in. Because of him I know what it is to love unconditionally, and I wish he knew just how loved he is. I hope he’s okay wherever he is.
@NotYourKhanom It’s not going to go anywhere, people will lie to her and tell her everything is fine and the women who lost their nationalities actually are fine and are grateful to lose them, alhamdulilah everything is fine!!!! 😪😪😪
