@libertylawful@rustedloaf@TheBasedTrinity A Christian can reject these gifts. God gives people the opportunity to be saved, but people need to accept the opportunity and strive to live a life that matches the graces that God has given. Doing good works merely reflect that a person embraces the graces that God bestows.
@libertylawful@rustedloaf@TheBasedTrinity This is a misread. Son had become the world’s slave, evident because he is left to feed “unclean” animals. Only when he choose to return to the father and repent did his father return his sonship. His father hoped he would return, but waited for his cooperation with grace to act.
@libertylawful@rustedloaf@TheBasedTrinity Given your commitment to scripture, I might suggest that you take a look at John Bergsma’s book “Stunned by Scripture” and other resources from St Paul Center https://t.co/qzOi9QpzXb. I am not affiliated with them. Their resources are insightful and can help your exploration.
@libertylawful@rustedloaf@TheBasedTrinity Faith restores you to your position as a “child of God” rather than a “slave” to a master…but children have proper responsibilities to the family that slaves will never have. It is not enough to know you have a father…it is necessary to realize that you are also a dutiful son!
@ShazamLives@BumpstockBarbie History much?! Many scientists who discovered these things were people of deep faith…! Copernicus, Kepler, Pascal, Robert Boyle, Newton, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, Michael Faraday, James Clerk Maxwell, Gregor Mendel…the list goes on…check en.Wikipedia “Christian Scientists”
@YourAuntAmerica@JeremyTate41 This may be a “chicken and egg” issue..the “misdirected” students may come to the school already on a path toward the “ridiculousness,” which exists at any college! The ND grads I know are the opposite. ND baptized 36 students at Easter Vigil 2026 and 22 at the Vigil in 2025.
@rlesperance52@brivael Is the focus on money really a focus on personal wealth or on power (where money is the measure)? In capitalism, individuals can work to obtain wealth, which distributes power. Under communism, money is “centralized” giving power to the few with the hope that they help many.
