Between The Odyssey & Dune: Part 3, I don’t see any other films really squeezing in the Best Picture race. The early word from a few folks I’ve seen who’ve already caught The Odyssey is that it’s sunning & exceeds the Nolan-hype. If that’s the case, we might have ourselves a historic battle for this year’s Oscar for Best Picture. Denis Villeneuve honestly can’t catch a break.

It doesn’t sit right with me that Philip Seymour Hoffman didn’t win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for The Master. Christoph Waltz was flawless in Django, but his performance in Django is cut from a similar cloth as Inglourious Basterds- and not as good. PSH in The Master is a once-in-a-lifetime performance. He should’ve won the Oscar for that exact reason.
