Today is #Imbolc, my favourite day of the year. It is the feast day of my namesake the Goddess Brigid - a time of new life and bright new beginnings. Sending love, light, hope and Imbolc snowdrops to all my lovely twitter friends 💚

Snowdrops are also known as ‘Candlemas Bells’ because they bloom at the time of #Candlemas. This Christian ‘celebration of light’ echoes the pagan tradition of #Imbolc, and is held on 2nd February to commemorate the ritual purification of Mary following Jesus’ birth. #wildflowers
Puffin was mystified by the fact everyone assumed he was a sociable bird. He couldn't deny that he was good in social situations (his banter was splendid), but he much preferred his own company.

By moonlight, the first frost is seen.
Hare watches the glistening wintry sheen.
Marking the turning towards winter's embrace;
a whispered promise of rest, a pledge to hibernate.
Soon she'll answer the call to surrender and renew.
For now, she readies herself under the Frost Moon
A single Cotton Grass flower and a huge Sweet Chestnut leaf inspired this little Rabbit. #CompostableAutumnArt made entirely from leaves, seedheads and a berry.🍂🐇🍁
