@KennyPolcari Absolute numbers ‘amaze’ people- but we need critical thinking. Your points are true - about waste, graft, fraud, vexatious legal actions. It’s all a zero sum game… the money gained, comes from someone else. (BTW, What happened to Doge’s $2 trillion goal?)
@KennyPolcari Kenny, It’s not about the absolute amount it’s about the tax rate he pays. Instead of paying 10% property tax (on 45% of the market value) or $880mil a year, he benefits greatly paying half the published the tax rate. If you can afford a Team of lawyers and accountants….
@BernieSanders Where is the FCC? The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) actively regulates industries to prevent monopolies and promote competition in telecommunications, cable, and internet services. Its priority is to foster competition, opposing market domination by single entities.
Slippery slope: What about the banks financing China technologies ? Goldman Sachs deep into China financing: underwriting and financial advisory services, a partnership with China’s sovereign wealth fund and has
an investment in the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC)
@WSJ What about the banks financing China technologies ? Goldman Sachs deep into China financing: underwriting and financial advisory services, a partnership with China’s sovereign wealth fund and has
a significant investment in the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC). !!
@KennyPolcari Signals - thanks for interpreting @KennyPolcari
“friends at Goldman raised their outlook for US stocks (essentially calling it a BUY) …citing the continued strength in US companies….If that’s not a SELL signal, I don’t know what it is!.”
@BernieSanders
Back to basics: let’s define ‘public goods’ and ring fence that from ‘for-profit’ companies.
Utilities, hospitals, basic healthcare, land, even our collective ‘search’ behaviors, are Public Goods whose value should go to people, not Corporations.
@BehizyTweets The problem is: how does that value get back to the tax paying people? It won’t.
There is no ‘model’ that allows the value to go to taxpayers. The for-profit companies will take advantage of the doors opened by the government, to capture the $$ for their Executives and investors
