As usual, I’ll unfortunately have to space out following my oomfs back thanks to Twatter’s wretched automated moderation.
If I don’t immediately follow you back, know that it’s nothing personal and I will do so in the future.
The original and 3DS versions' gaping black eyes are more unnerving.
The remake has the same caliber of subtlety and art design you'd expect from a marvel movie.
I know halloween is over but i finally managed to get a 1CC with the best ending in Castlevania: Dracula X on SNES for the first time! Taken from a SNES Wii emulator, without using save states.
I will also play and get the 1CCs in the Japanese and European variants :-)
One of the biggest problems with this remake, aside from the simplified puzzles, is how easy it is to combo enemies into mush. It completely devaluates whatever tension the original might've carried.
These are the two best vidya remakes ever released. I doubt we'll see remakes of this caliber again since modern remakes are developed to accommodate those who are incapable of overcoming the original games' challenges, instead of expanding upon and compounding their design.
I can't say I share this excitement when it comes to Nintendo's fresh 'talent.' I found Super Mario Bros Wonder, Pikmin 4, and Odyssey to be shallow and mindless affairs.
Sure, the spectacle is appealing, but they lack the substance that classic Nintendo games offered.
I'm gonna be honest, that is quite a weak (if dumb) reason to be done with Nintendo.
Yes, the old guards go or take a backseat, but we have seen again and again what newer talents at EPD and others are capable off.
This does come over as whining for the sake of it.
@DVADigital323 I find the visual style of the original game to be more distinctive and interesting than the remake’s, at least when it comes to these two screenshots.
@LDTrueBlue Both Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine offer more engaging and difficult platforming than Super Mario Odyssey. How has Super Mario 64 aged poorly outside of the occasionally wonky camera? It has some of the best movement of any 3D platformer.
@LDTrueBlue Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine are better games than Super Mario Odyssey. Super Mario Odyssey might've been a good game if it actually had proper level design and platforming to accommodate Mario's moveset.
@PrimoTeddy It had to shed its unique identity to find success. Its new identity is that of yet another cozy milquetoast Nintendo game.
Why would I care about a series being more successful if it abandoned all the elements I enjoyed about it?
@GameStrikerX2@nin10doland You're putting too much thought into this. When the remake releases, you'll see that they've simplified nearly every puzzle in the game.
