One of the most meaningful conversations I had this year about artificial intelligence in education was with @adeelorama, Founder of @magicschoolai. We talked about how AI is not only reshaping classrooms, but also being used by district HR (talent acquisition) departments as a powerful recruitment tool—attracting teachers by highlighting how #AI can support their professionalism, reduce workload, and bring joy back into teaching.

What strikes me most about Adeel’s work is his mission. Under the banner of “teachers are magic,” MagicSchool #AI has elevated national recognition of educators in a truly unique way. Their recent campaign placing teachers on billboards—normally reserved for athletes and movie stars—sends a powerful message: teachers deserve to be celebrated and respected at the highest levels!

This visibility has implications far beyond today’s classrooms—it inspires the next generation to see teaching as a profession worthy of honor and admiration. US Educators make up only 4% of the national workforce but prepare 100% of our students for the future. We need the best and brightest to join the teaching profession!

AI is complex computer science and not magic. But teachers—the ones who transform bare classrooms into vibrant spaces of creativity, who inspire lifelong learning through human connection, often with limited resources, and who dedicate countless hours to shaping the futures of the next generation—-they are truely magical in their work!

I deeply appreciate the vision and leadership Adeel brings to recognizing and uplifting the teaching profession. As a new school year begins, may we all carry forward this spirit of respect and celebration for educators. Here’s to a magical school year ahead……
