95-99% of many museum art and artifact collections are locked in vaults where they are rarely seen by the public.
Why?
And isn’t it interesting that many of our most advanced nations also have huge art collections in their vaults?
The British Museum has around 50k works of art on display and 8 million works of art in the vault.
There are 8 million museum worthy works of art in this museum alone that barely anyone sees.
What are these priceless works of art?
Why don’t we get to see them?
They closed the Louvre.
Over 35k works of art on display, and around 580k works of art in the vault.
615k priceless works of art.
My guess is everything is going in the vault…
What are they hiding?
🇫🇷 Chers visiteurs, en raison d’un mouvement social étudiant, le musée est fermé pour le moment. Nous vous prions de nous excuser de la gêne occasionnée.

“Take Five” made jazz history with its distinctive 5/4 rhythm. 🎷 After composer Paul Desmond’s death in 1977, its royalties continued to serve others through the American Red Cross. A timeless tune, a generous legacy. ❤️
Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 in G minor was composed during one of the most difficult periods of his life. In the summer of 1788, he lost his six-month-old daughter and struggled with serious financial hardship, even writing desperate letters to borrow money. Against this backdrop, he created one of the most profound masterpieces in classical music.
Pumpkin walks into that diner in PULP FICTION (1994) expecting an easy score, only to find himself staring down Samuel L. Jackson at his absolute best.
@SO3_Clausewitz And just to make matters worse, The British museum has over 8 million works of art, with around 50k on display. The last thing anyone needs to do is give them more art to hide in their vault to never be seen again…
@SO3_Clausewitz Way too much art to move. There are over 600k works of art in the Louvre with 35k on display.
If it was a bunch of scrolls and texts, maybe. But paintings and statues would be much harder.
