New Vithanakande Tea Factory has set a Guinness World Record for producing the world’s most expensive tea 🌍✨
The premium Ceylon Black Tea was sold in Japan for Rs. 252,500 per kg – cementing Sri Lanka’s place at the top of the global luxury tea market.
The Indian Naval Ship (INS) SATPURA 🚢 arrived at the Port of Colombo for replenishment enabling operational turnaround.
The visiting ship was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) in compliance with time-honoured naval traditions.
INS SATPURA is a 142.5m long Frigate which is manned by a crew of 403. Meanwhile, the ship is commanded by Captain Vikas Garg.
During their stay in Sri Lanka, the crew will engage in sightseeing tours across the country.
Minister of Transport Bimal Rathnayake says the government plans to recruit 450 drivers and 300 conductors to the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB), including female staff. “We have even designed the uniform at air hostess level. We need to uplift standards in this way so the younger generation will see SLTB as an attractive workplace,” he said.
