One of the first times this was seen on a large scale was the astonishing hypocrisy and lizard brain rage exampled by the “tea party“ (itself an Astroturf “movement“) during the time the health care issue.

Now seen in school meetings & other public venues the screamers spew

A key tactic of the toxic right wing, well exampled in the Trump era, which reified into Trumpism is to flood institutions: esp courts, gov agencies & public square w endless attacks of faux outrage in specific violation of core values.
It is corrosive making subversion possible.
