My AQT colloquium at @BerkeleyLab is now on @YouTube. Check it out for details of our most recent work in mapping open quantum system cavity QED effects to a quantum circuit for execution on NISQ hardware

I have an opening for a Postdoc position this year. (https://t.co/brdraTAN0i) If you can spread the word, that will help me a lot! I am looking for someone with a strong background in
1. Quantum information theory and/or
2. Quantum many-body physics (theory or computational).
@preskill Sad news. Jeff Kimble’s research and vision have inspired my PhD work. Even today, I am editing a paper and contextualizing his references on two concepts he had groundbreaking results in - photon blockade and the Tavis-Cummings model. RIP legend!
We have a new postdoc opening on spin-photon interfaces in silicon photonics.

We will start reviewing applications in early August. Please share with anyone who might be interested!
#Rlab updates: Color center integrated photonics hits WAFER scale! 🤓🥳
We develop a nanofabrication process for up to 5-inch silicon carbide wafers in arbitrary substrate types including our favorite quantum-grade color center hosting 4H-SiC

@ProfRachelGaN@sridhar_majety@PrantaSaha01@VictoriaANorman @alexhrubin There are ways to get more control over positioning of color centers in structures, for example by first characterizing the emitters and then aligning lithographic pattern or by using FIB or pulsed laser to create emitters post fab (see Hu, Wrachtrup, Bielejec works)
On this #WorldQuantumDay celebrating #QIST, we extend our thanks and appreciation to the Editorial Board of our Gold #OA journal Optica Quantum (#OPG_OpticaQ) – led by Editor-in-Chief Michael G. Raymer – for its hard work and dedication to the Journal’s success!
#Rlab news: @VictoriaANorman@pattonjt publication from our @ucdavis collaboration with Scalettar group on all-photonic quantum simulation is now online. Research included three undergrads who have by now moved to quantum and semiconductor jobs and PhDs
