People often ask me what I learned from my years at ESPN.
The answer is simple: the game taught me that success leaves clues.
For more than two decades, I had the opportunity to study the NFL at the highest level...breaking down film, learning from great coaches, talking with players, and understanding what separates good from great.
What I discovered is that the same principles that create success on the football field create success in life.
Preparation matters.
Accountability matters.
Relationships matter.
And when adversity shows up, you have two choices: make excuses or Find A Way.
My time as an analyst gave me a front-row seat to some of the greatest competitors in the world. The common denominator wasn't talent alone—it was their ability to adapt, overcome obstacles, and keep moving forward when things got hard.
That's why the "Find A Way" message has always resonated with me. It isn't just a football lesson. It's a life lesson.
The field may have changed, but the message remains the same: when challenges come, Find A Way.

Jack Welch's obsession at GE
wasn't strategy or innovation.
He told me, "Talent. Recruiting the best.
That's it. That's the game before the
game. You win or lose before kickoff."
@AmericaPartyX “Mexico has participated in every Summer Olympics since 1924 (except for the 1932 Games) and has won medals in sports such as diving, boxing, taekwondo, archery, and soccer.”

And the Mexican legend couldn't help himself from sneaking in a left hook to the body 😅
On funerals, loss, grief, friendship, and support:
It's not about knowing what to say. It's about being there when nobody knows what to say. The only thing people need to hear is, "You are not alone." And that doesn't require words. It just requires your presence.
This month’s prayer intention is that sports may be an instrument of peace, encounter, and dialogue among cultures and nations. May sports promote values such as respect, solidarity, and personal growth. Take a moment. Let us #PrayTogether, at https://t.co/S3TtsnB6oT
Distinguished Columbia Univ. Prof. Jeff Sachs on Trump’s THREATS against Iran:
“Nobody in authority anywhere should threaten to exterminate another country or to kill other leaders. This is illegal. It is dangerous.”
The President just made thousands of stock trades — and then he turned around and made decisions that shifted those companies’ bottom lines. It's corrupt, and we need to end it.
Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson says the “reason we are in trouble is because over 74 percent of federal spending is on autopilot, mandatory spending.” Actually, that's bullish. Would readers prefer federal spending on past mistakes that we've worked around, or the freeing up of more dollars for Sens. Warren and Sanders to spend, along with Rep. Ocasio-Cortez? With the national debt, it's as though 1981-present didn't happen. For decades, it's been said that economic growth will shrink the debt. Quite the opposite, and that's not a knock on growth. It's just a comment that a combination of prosperity with excessive taxation rapidly expands the federal government's capacity to borrow. That's why spending cuts will fail too. As is the case with more tax revenue (the solution of left, right and in between), the borrowing power of government will expand. In time, more than a few will agree. https://t.co/93krCw8iX7
Nobody is vandalizing the Reflecting Pool, and Trump knows it. This is a visible example of his corruption--a no-bid contract to some crony followed by sky-high cost overruns, and shoddy construction to boot. Classic Trump: I didn't fuck up, it was my enemies.
It is important to resist the commodification of basic human needs. Food, water and healthcare cannot be subordinated to market considerations or geopolitical interests. Access to adequate food is a fundamental human right grounded in the dignity of every person. Meeting this need not only alleviates suffering but also addresses underlying causes of geopolitical instability. Indeed, food security is an essential component of global and integral security. https://t.co/DgkM9RegJ7
This 4th of July, let’s all celebrate the genius American idea of checks and balances, which, yes, is threatened and, yes, is taking on water, but is still afloat. #America250
According to NPR, 45% of U.S. adults are not taking a summer vacation, with cost cited as the top reason by a STUNNING 49%.
