How to report prostate volume in HoLEP literature? Preoperative US, TRUS, MRI? Resected tissue weighted in the OR? Pathological report? Is the time for standardization!! @UrologyTLVMC @scoffonecesare @fgomsan @FCAFigueiredo
@squarrier@UrologyTLVMC@scoffonecesare@fgomsan@FCAFigueiredo In my opinion preop whatever assessment is the less exact. It can be used maybe for classifying in small/average/large/very large. For effectiveness and outcome only the intraop is reliable, measurable exactly, and reproducible.
@FCAFigueiredo@UrologyTLVMC@scoffonecesare@fgomsan Previously we showed in 2 studies similar differences between preop US and pathological sample for both open and EEP operations. Morcellation doesn’t desiccate cells, morcellated tissue is always immersed in an excess of saline. Thus, it is probably absorption of formaldehyde.
Strong presence from @UrolgyTLVMC at #WCET2025. We congratulate @mario_sofer and @AdiKidronX for their important contribution and for representing our department on the global stage!
