Harbaugh’s Cafe is officially OPEN in downtown Marion!
The longtime Carbondale restaurant opened its second location at 204 Tower Square Plaza, inside the historic Goodall Building.

A $2 million renovation project is underway at the former AMC Centre 8 theater in Marion.
City of Marion Chief of Staff Cody Moake confirmed the city approved a remodeling permit in April as Showplace Cinemas plans to open later this year.
Marion has been named a 2025 Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation.

The Marion Park District has announced that all fields at Pyramid Park are no longer first come, first serve, effective immediately. Officials say the change is intended to improve scheduling and availability, and all field use must now be reserved in advance.

Marion firefighters rescued a 93-year-old man from a fully engulfed house fire around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday near East Boyton and Cedar streets. The man was pulled from his bedroom, treated on scene, and taken to a hospital. The home was a total loss. The man is reported to be stable.
Oasis has officially opened the first phase of its new Oasis Entertainment Center at the former Illinois Star Centre Mall in Marion. The debut includes the relaunch of Oasis PowerSports, now open at the location.
Phase two is set to roll out later this fall.
