I forgive him because that’s what Christ did and that’s what Charlie would do. The answer to hate is not hate, the answer we know from the gospel is love… love for our enemies. And love for those who persecute us. - Erika Kirk
Facts aren’t the only things we need to pay attention to when assessing whether it is safe to trust another person. Feelings are also crucial.
We don’t just need to be told we’re safe; we need to believe it for ourselves.
We have hope because we have a Savior. A Savior for our every hurt. Our every flaw. Our every need.
Between where we are and where we hope to be, our Savior steps right in and declares I AM the way, the truth and the life. May this be illuminated to you and yours this Christmas.
“To the charge that they were turning the world upside down, Jesus’ followers would reply that they were in fact turning it the right way up.”
N.T. Wright, The Challenge of Acts
You must understand why it is that the Word of the Father, so great and so high, has been made manifest in bodily form. He has not assumed a body as proper to His own nature - far from it, for as the Word, He is without body. He has been manifested in a human body for this reason only, out of the love and goodness of His Father, for the salvation of us men.
"On the Incarnation" by Saint Athanasius of Alexandria (12)
Never lie to your kids.
Tell them the truth.
Even when it's hard.
If you lie to your kids, they will feel the disconnection, absorb the dishonesty, and assume it's their own fault.
And then, they will spend their entire lifetime trying to fix it.
Tell your kids the truth about sex, politics, religion, trauma, tragedy, and so on.
Never lie to your kids.

Nothing tests our trust like fear, but fear fades when we trust the strength and sovereignty of our God.
Fear doesn’t have to pull us away from trusting God, sweet friends. We can actually let it be the catalyst to us choosing to trust God more than ever.
Your kids won't like being around you if you're not likable.
Here are some things that might make you hard to like:
- Always lecturing
- Turning every conversation into a teaching moment
- Always on your phone
- Always angry or enraged
- Always pointing out flaws
- Never saying you're sorry
- Being ugly to their other parent
- Hiding grief
- Not dealing with your anxiety
- Living your life through them
- Lying
- Use of force instead of relationship

God’s ways are sometimes opposite of what we want and expect. But we can absolutely trust that His ways are best.
Let’s remember to consider what God’s purposes are and align our expectations and desires around His.
True freedom comes when we surrender control to God and focus on the one thing we can control – ourselves. This is the essence of the Serenity Prayer: accepting what we cannot change, changing what we can (ourselves), and seeking wisdom to know the difference.
Fear only has as much access to our hearts as we allow. And today's a good day to tell fear, “Stand down in the name of Jesus. You are messing with the wrong girl this time!”
We don't have to dance with the devil’s lies.
What if we look at the word "impossible" a little differently?
It changes completely if we just stick a little apostrophe between the first two letters. Then it becomes “I’m-Possible.” God is the Great I AM. He is our possibility in the midst of all that feels impossible.
Children only have access to the things the adults in their lives give them.
If children struggle with obsessions over screens, junk food, television, etc., it's not because there is something wrong with them.
It's our fault.
We are the parents.
We must stop blaming the children.
Grown-ups: Take back your homes. Tale back your children's emotional, physical, and psychological health. Protect your children's hearts, minds, and bodies.
If we want our children to be well, the change begins with us.

May we see prayer not as a last resort but as one of the very things God’s most courageous followers turn to first.

And made me bold with strength in my soul.” Psalm 138:3
