@jiggywititbuddy@JonahDispatch See. He doesn't. He criticizes Republicans more than Dems. You could just look at his timeline. But because you have a monkey brain you decided to say something that is completely divorced from reality.
@MattBruenig@Noahpinion Inconvenient truth. When you add in things like the EITC, Medicaid, housing vouchers and count them as income the poverty rate is around 2%, down from 16% from the start of the War on Poverty
@Inmy64eth@FreedomVeteran2@LoveAndMoney15@JC_ParetsX It actually tells you a lot. Virtually anyone can be 150k in debt. It is pretty hard to get someone to lend you $5 million without being an excellent risk.
@Inmy64eth@FreedomVeteran2@LoveAndMoney15@JC_ParetsX If I told you one person has $150k in debt and another person has $5 million in debt, who would you think is better off financially having no other data points? The answer in most cases would be the person with $5 million in debt b/c that debt level indicates they earn a lot
@FreedomVeteran2@LoveAndMoney15@JC_ParetsX This thread is about Americans being wealthy. You cited the debt as a counter that. I am saying the level of governmental debt is irrelevant to how wealthy US citizens are. If anything it is an indicator of how wealthy US citizens because it is a bet on future tax revenues
@FreedomVeteran2@LoveAndMoney15@JC_ParetsX I didn't say unlimited debt is good. I said the debt has nothing to do with how wealthy US citizens are. A huge debt isn't some indication of being poor. People buy the debt because the US is a good bet.
@FreedomVeteran2@LoveAndMoney15@JC_ParetsX So you are saying people from around the world want to invest in the United States?Wealth consists of the ability to buy goods and services with money. The United States is enormously wealthly. The level of debt is an indication of how productive the United States is.
@ralfwk@LoveAndMoney15@JC_ParetsX Germany's biggest company is SAP, a nothing software company from the 80s. There is no innovation taking place in Germany. Nearly every technology, biotech/drug/medical device company is based in the US. The list is endless. Germany is a dying, failed state.
@ralfwk@LoveAndMoney15@JC_ParetsX https://t.co/YOTi9aZIn5 And even using median income when you use disposable (after tax) income American's earn 33% more adjusted for PPP
@signeous_@dannycantalk On a per capita, I would bet landlords get screwed over at 50 to 1 rate relative to tenants. Rent control for example is getting screwed up. The rent moratium during Covid. All the laws that make it impossible to evict tenants in some places. Being a landlord is horrible
@P_Dubbin@dannycantalk@GamingAndPandas Ummm.... Housing. You should use Google and look up the definition of landlord. They offer housing at price and if someone finds the quality and price of the housing what they want, they will live there. It works remarkably well.
@signeous_@dannycantalk Flip your first sentence. How often do tenants care about their landlord? People don't need to care about each other to cooperate. Landlords and tenants are operating in their own self interest to get the best deal possible and trade with other to get a win-win outcome
