๐คฌ GROOMING GANG TREATED SCHOOLGIRLS AS YOUNG AS 13 LIKE โTROPHIESโ AS FOUR CHILD SEX PREDATORS ARE JAILED
Four members of a grooming gang who sexually exploited vulnerable schoolgirls as young as 13 were jailed for a combined 17 years and eight months after a judge condemned their sickening treatment of children as nothing more than โtrophiesโ.
Taiyab Hussain, 19, Shaheem Ratyal, 19, Sohail Raja Ali, 19, and Mohammed Hizwar Rizwan, 18, all from Burton-upon-Trent in Staffordshire, were brought to justice following a disturbing catalogue of sexual offences against young girls.
The four offenders were sentenced at Stafford Crown Court in April 2018 after admitting a total of 22 offences involving child sexual activity, causing or inciting children to engage in sexual activity and, in one defendant's case, possessing indecent images of children.
Five vulnerable girls, aged just 13 and 14, had been sexually abused between December 2016 and March 2017.
But the case only began to unravel when one courageous young victim watched an educational video warning children about grooming.
As she watched, the schoolgirl recognised the disturbing similarities between the warning signs described in the film and the abuse she had experienced.
She confided in her father, setting in motion a police investigation that would expose the offenders and lead to their arrests.
Investigators subsequently uncovered communications between the men, revealing their shared interest in meeting and sexually exploiting underage girls.
Sentencing the four, Judge Jonathan Gosling delivered a damning assessment of their behaviour.
โThese were young men treating the young girls like trophies,โ the judge declared.
The court heard that the offenders had encouraged one another, demonstrating a shocking disregard for the welfare and vulnerability of their victims.
Judge Gosling described the offences as extreme and made clear that the children had been treated with appalling indifference.
Hussain, of Shobnall Street, received the longest sentence of five years after admitting six offences, including sexual activity with a child and possessing indecent images.
The court heard how he sent highly sexualised messages before sexually abusing a schoolgirl inside his car while another child was present.
Rizwan, of Derby Road, was sentenced to four years and four months after admitting six offences involving sexual activity with a child and causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
Ratyal, of Grange Street, also received four years and four months after admitting six offences, including sexual activity with a child and causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
Ali, of Weston Park Avenue, was handed four years in a young offenders' institution after admitting four offences, including sexual activity with a child. His offending included abuse against a girl aged just 13.
In addition to their custodial sentences, all four were made subject to Sexual Harm Prevention Orders, including an eight-year prohibition on using Snapchat, the messaging platform associated with the case.
They were also ordered to remain on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
Staffordshire Police praised the extraordinary courage of the victims, whose willingness to come forward and support the investigation helped secure the guilty pleas.
Detective Inspector Simon Caton, who led the investigation, paid tribute to the girls for their bravery throughout what he described as a lengthy and complex investigation.
The case exposed how vulnerable children had been sexually exploited by young men who communicated with one another about their offending, while the victims were left to endure the consequences.
Perhaps the most disturbing aspect was that one young girl had to recognise the signs of grooming herself, through an educational video, before the abuse was brought to light.

A proper country would be outraged. Iโm not even English and I feel awful for them.
Theyโre losing their entire culture and people clap for it like idiots.
@Econgrad5143@bighairynetwork The point is Nonce, NZ First institutes a 10-year welfare stand-down for visa holders, and limits birthright citizenship. Sounds like a good plan to me.
