A collection of Second World War aerial photography has been made accessible to the public for the first time. 📷
The photographs were taken by the United States Army Air Forces Photographic Reconnaissance units in England in 1943 and 1944.

My better half went to register the birth of our new baby boy today.
I'm guessing the Registrar wasn't sure about the PhD acronym and just had a stab in the dark 🤣

@dgowerluck @AmyMilneSmith Same! Potential for a really important project.
Ethnicity not recorded statistically at Menston, I'm judging solely on admission forms and patient photographs having read them all for multiple years, so obviously not 100% comprehensive.
@AmyMilneSmith Almost complete absence of racial diversity in patient admissions for multiple years in my study. Suspect that this may be the case more generally too. Racial prejudices a possible barrier to admission? Would love to explore further but difficult to know how/where to begin!
@AmyMilneSmith I've seen a few asylum patient descriptions which stopped me in my tracks too:
A soldier, Jack S., was admitted in July, 1916 and was described as having ‘well marked Jewish Cast of features.’
Potentially discourse of scientific racism being more widely entrenched in general?
We’re going to court TOMORROW to defend the digital rights of all libraries! @LibraryFutures will be hosting a live blog during oral argument and a live discussion afterwards. Here's how to participate: https://t.co/CJYm2qsC0d
@Occasional_Dave@LunaticAsylums@OfficialUoM I'm pretty sure it was in the Admin block. I've looked at all the maps and plans as part of my PhD research. Can't quite find it in my records!
Might be able to spot it on this map:
