Where is there ANY evidence that FLOCK made a mistake?
From this video, a flock camera captured the license plate information and the license plate had been entered into the stolen vehicle system as a “stolen plate.“ Flock has nothing to do with the entry of the license plate into the stolen vehicle system. All flock does is capture the license plate information, check the data through the stolen vehicle system, and notify law-enforcement when a license plate returns on a stolen vehicle or in this case a “stolen plate.”
John, that’s not what happened in this case. The registered owner of the SUV (not this guy in the video) reported the license plate stolen. Criminals will steal a license plate from a land rover and place it on a stolen land rover thinking they can drive around undetected. In this case a FLOCK camera captured the stolen plate and alerted law enforcement. Law enforcement contacted the guy, detained him briefly (without handcuffs), and investigated why the license plates were listed as stolen.
If an officer had randomly ran the license plate and received the stolen return, the same thing would have happened.
If you oppose FLOCK cameras in your community, then you are ignorant to the benefit they provide local law enforcement in the investigation of serious felonies. If you are more concerned about the surveillance state than violent crime, then you should immediately stop using your bank, your internet, your cellular devices, and do not shop at most businesses.
By the way, driving a vehicle without license plates is not a measure to escape detection from a FLOCK camera so stop driving a vehicle.
@NYCMayor Once again, an unauthorized migrant who had been in the US for decades without obtaining legal status.
If you are an unauthorozed migrant and are fearful of being detained and deported, then self-deport and apply for reentry with legal status.
Poor investigative work does not result in FLOCK cameras being a poor tool or worse.
For those who complain about FLOCK cameras, realize it’s not just your security you are forfeiting for liberty. It’s your spouses, your children, your family, and uour friends.
Imagine a felony crime is committed against one of those people and of there were any witnesses, they could only provide a general description of the getaway vehicle and the last known direction of travel. Or if the crime was committed in the vicinity of a business, video evidence provides that same evidence. Video from the business captured the assailants clothing description and him getting into the front passenger seat of the vehicle.
IF the jurisdiction had FLOCK cameras and even had intersection video cameras, they could review the images and videos to see if the vehicle was captured arriving at the crime scene and fleeing the crime scene. Maybe on of the images captured the license plate information. Does this mean the vehicle was definitively involved in the crime? Of course not. Is it reasonable suspicion for a stop and detention? Possibly.
Now you locate the vehicle a short time driving a short distance away and stop and detain the occupants. The front passenger is wear clothing identical to the clothing worn by the assailant. Law enforcement transports the victim to the traffic stop location and an in-field confrontation is conducted. The victim identifies the front passenger as the assailant. The victim identifies the vehicle as being similar to the one seen at the crime scene.
Law enforcement conduct a warrantless search of the vehicle and locate and recover the victim’s property.
Both the driver and front passenger are arrested.
This arrest of the perpetrators and the recover of the property would be highly unlikely with the access to FLOCK data.
Yes. You made a clain that @Riley_Gaines_ has said hateful things about males who identify as women. Since I have never heard her say something hateful or read a post containing something hateful, I went to AI and got the answer. Nothing hateful.
The lunatic blocked me.
According to Grok…In summary, whether her words are “demeaning” is viewpoint-dependent: to those who prioritize self-identified gender, yes (via misgendering and biological emphasis). To those prioritizing material sex differences in athletics and spaces, her statements are factual advocacy, not targeted degradation of individuals. She has built a public platform almost entirely around this issue since 2022.
Nothing hateful. @Riley_Gaines_ is in a different camp than you.
