Prayer is truly one of the most countercultural aspects of the Christian faith, as it requires resistance towards endless distractions, waiting in the midst of busy, and trust in the wake of an age that primes you for self-confidence.

Pagan cultures in the biblical era trivialized life by child sacrifices & abandoning unwanted infants. America aborted over 1 million unborn in 2024, evidence how life is treated as an “accident” you move on from. We are more pagan than ever & this culture of death proves it.

If you believe there is no God who sovereignly governs the world, or your view of God is of a weak, puny, permissive deity, then I understand how a free society would be terrifying.
