So many 'wow' moments on last months 'African adventure' and this was definitely one of them. Thanks to our amazing guide Phineas. He made sure we were in the right place at the right time to get a glimpse of this beautiful cheetah emerging from the undergrowth. What a privilege.

The white rhino is the second largest land animal in the world, weighing up to four tons. It has thick skin, a powerful horn, shoulder hump, and a wide square-shaped lip for grazing on grasses. A black rhino is smaller & has a hooked lip adapted for feeding on leaves on branches.

Southern Double-Collared Sunbird. During a brief visit to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, I had hoped to see & photograph Cape Sugarbirds eating nectar from the flowering proteas, which we had briefly seen at Cape Peninsula. This sunbird made a great substitute. #sunbird

Synchronised preening. A pair of African penguins emerge from the sea at Boulders Beach, Simons Town. I had given up hope of seeing any penguins up close on the beach before it closed at 5pm. With minutes to spare these two appeared from nowhere, posed for a few photos & moved on

Male ostrich gazing out to sea at Cape Point National Park, South Africa. It was an amazing site to be stood watching the worlds largest and heaviest bird. If you look closely you can see that the birds legs are a reddish colour indicating that it is the mating season #ostrich
