In 2015 Gov. Ducey cut higher ed funding by $100m. This was while state budgets were still recovering from the Great Recession. ASU & Michael Crow response was to identify ways to make up for these lost revenue streams. ASU gets a special tax break on land.
I was talking to a new teacher about how much retirement AZ takes out of each checks. I got curious, so I looked it up.
I contributed 2.85% each paycheck in 1998.
We now contribute over 12%.
This might seem like a dumb question, but who decides how this goes up every year?
