2/2 - pros & cons to both, but looking at Bridge Group’s current portfolio, it doesn’t inspire confidence. How much attention would we get from them? Would we be their biggest acquisition to date?
Reading up on Bridge Group is making me think. As much as we need a shake-up behind the scenes, do we want to be owned by a faceless group of wealthy individuals and be a cog in their machine, or better to have a singular owner. 1/2 #rufc
@SoulsDisparate@__IrufcI__@rufc_pod To be honest, i’m not sure what to make of Scott…..ultimately he sources players the manager wants. He’s found us some gems for example under Warne, but some stinkers subsequently. So very much a mixed bag, but he works with the instructions and tools given to him.
@__IrufcI__@SoulsDisparate@rufc_pod 2/2 i do have respect for McLaren’s career, but i’ve got doubts over how much he’d cost vs our budget, especially for League To against the benefit he’d bring next to an actually decent manager.
@__IrufcI__@SoulsDisparate@rufc_pod I’m not actually commenting on McLaren myself. I’m making the distinction that the comment put forward on the OP about McLaren is also applicable to Lee Clarke.
I find it funny that a section of fans will bend over backwards for LC, but McLaren is somehow unacceptable 1/2
@__IrufcI__@rufc_pod Disagree.
Supporters are debating whether or LC is the right man for the job, for me @rufc_pod ‘s point stand just as much for LC as it does for McLaren
@__IrufcI__ The jesus wept was about LC. I just don’t get it. I do get the attraction of a manager saying it how it is, but what we’re seeing on the pitch isn’t translating to that brutal honesty. As you say, his record is dodgey at best.
Steve McLaren as director of football (can’t wait to hear is Yorkshire accent 😂😂) Lee Clarke as manager.
Jesus wept.
Also - someone tell McLaren we can’t afford umbrellas.

@ChrisIbbotson Honestly, Chris - anyone.
Between us, we’ve got as much coaching experience in football as this man in the last 5 years. No way he should get the job just because he ‘tells it how it is’ in an interview when he’s got nothing at stake and isn’t the direct cause of the problem.
@RotherhamUnited Complaining of players not listening, running about with no shape, harsh words falling deaf ears.
Loud and clear says he’s not the manager for us going forwards. This isn’t his fault, thanks for trying, but no thanks to any more.
